Phnom Penh International Airport Pochen Tong International Airport is about 15km west of the city. It has banking, money changing, postal and telephone facilities. It also has restaurants and bars.

Departure tax is $6 for domestic flights and $25 for international departures.

Leaving the airport: Taxis and motorcycle taxis can be hired from the airport to the city for $7-8 (taxi) and $2-3 (motorcycle taxi).

Cars / Taxis
Taxis are un-metered and unmarked, and hiring them can be arranged through your hotel or travel agent. On Monivong Blvd., cars and taxis can be hired outside hotels. They cost $20-$30/day.

If you arrive by boat at Sisowath Quay, taxis can be hired at the quayside to take you to your hotel. Taxis can be hired to Battambang and Sihanoukville. They are at the south-west corner of the Central Market (Phsar Thmey). To Battambang, the fare is 25,000R per person for shared taxi, and $35 - $40 for a private taxi. Travel time is about 4 hours.

Motorcycle Taxis / Bicycles
Motos are convenient for quick public transportation. You can find them anywhere on the main road, ornear markets and hotels. For a short trip, it is about 2000 riel, but expect to pay extra depending on the distance. A full day trip around town with an English-speaking driver costs $5-$8/day. icycles can be rented from some guesthouses for about $1/day.

Cyclos
Cyclos are a fun, if albeit slow, way to get around town. They offer a dry ride in wet weather. However, for some reason, they are more expensive.

Dara’s Bike Shop
Established in 1983, and owned and operated for the last four years by the original owner’s son. Dara guides custom dirt bike trips for $100 per-day plus the cost of the bike rental.
All necessary gear (helmets, gloves, kneepads, shoulder pads, elbow pads and full suit) is provided to protect riders from their inevitable spills. Being an experienced rider is not necessary. Dara will choose the trials and customize the trip based on the skill level of the customers.

Trains
(Phnom Penh to Battambang) As of this writing trains to Battambang run every Saturday leaving at 6:20am, arr/dep Pursat 2:00pm, arrive Battambang 8:00pm. Cars with basic seats, and passenger-carrying freight cars (flat cars and boxcars). Currently there are no trains running on the Phnom Penh - Kampot - Sihanoukville line. There are also no trains between Battambang and Sisophon.

Buses
There are numerous bus companies in Phnom Penh, with scheduled routes to all parts of Cambodia. Below is a list of companies, and destinations. Buses leave from the Central Market area, or in some cases from guesthouses. Tickets can be bought from travel agents, and most hotels and guesthouses, or from the bus company office.

The main bus stop at the Central Market feeds into Bus Line 1 and services from here stop at points 17, 18, 25 and 26 along Monivong Boulevard.

To Battambang: the road is paved and in good condition. Several buses leave daily. The fare is $3 - $3.50, and they depart between 6:30AM and 8AM. The trip takes about 5 to 6 hours.
